10th Anniversary of Singapore Botanic Gardens' UNESCO World Heritage Site Inscription

The Singapore Botanic Gardens celebrated its 10th anniversary as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2025 with a Heritage Festival featuring light shows, free programmes, and community exhibitions, partly supported by sponsors.

Lightshow at Swan Lake
Inscribed on 4 July 2015 as Singapore’s first and only UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Gardens remains the only tropical botanical garden among three on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The Singapore Botanic Gardens marked its 10th anniversary as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2025, celebrating this milestone through the Singapore Botanic Gardens Heritage Festival.
The festival allowed visitors to deepen their understanding of the Gardens' rich heritage through various exhibitions and enjoy various educational and cultural experiences such as hands-on workshops, musical performances and light installations.
Anniversary Highlights
The 10th edition of the Heritage Festival showcased over 40 free programmes and activities.
The first-ever light shows at Swan Lake and Tanglin Gate featured immersive displays celebrating the Gardens' journey through stunning light projections.
The "Planting Memories" exhibition at the CDL Green Gallery, People’s Gallery, Nassim Visitor Services Centre and Green Pavilion showcased the community’s heartfelt tributes and well wishes for the Gardens.

The Singapore Botanic Gardens Heritage Festival was partly supported by sponsors like Equinix Singapore Pte Ltd, City Developments Limited, Mr Ou Tsung Ming & Mrs Ou Chen Li-Chin, who demonstrated their commitment to preserving Singapore's living heritage whilst supporting community access to a vibrant line-up of exhibitions, events, and activities that bring the Gardens’ rich history and cultural heritage to life.

Visitors could pick up a Discovery Passport and collect commemorative stamps featuring iconic landmarks such as the Bandstand, Learning Forest, and Swan Lake at 10 stations throughout the Gardens.
