Keppel Coastal Trail
25 January 2025
The Keppel Coastal Trail features a boardwalk that enables community to have close interaction with important coastal habitats without impacting it.

The Keppel Coastal Trail at Labrador Nature Park represents a S$1 million partnership between Keppel Care Foundation and NParks, donated through Garden City Fund.
Opened in January 2025, this 340-metre trail combines conservation with community access, featuring an elevated wheelchair-accessible boardwalk and rustic forest path that connects visitors to Singapore's precious coastal biodiversity.
Impact and Achievements
The trail addresses critical habitat connectivity needs whilst providing educational opportunities for visitors to understand Singapore's coastal biodiversity and conservation efforts.
It also enhances ecological resilience for one of mainland Singapore's last remaining coastal hill forests.
100 species of native trees and shrubs were planted along the trail, including rare coastal species like Common Putat and Sea Mango.
8,000 trees were planted across Singapore through Keppel's donation to the Plant-A-Tree programme, with 3,800 trees enhancing Labrador Nature Reserve
The 340-metre barrier-free trail with elevated boardwalk provides unobstructed sea views.

Building Singapore's Green Future
For Conservation: Provides crucial habitat connectivity and food sources for pollinators, birds, and wildlife, strengthening the adjacent nature reserve's ecosystem.
For Community: Offers accessible nature-based recreation with educational opportunities, connecting people to Singapore's coastal heritage through interpretive signage.
For Singapore: Advances our City in Nature vision by demonstrating how corporate partnerships can deliver both conservation outcomes and community benefits.
The Keppel Coastal Trail reflects our commitment to environmental stewardship, and serves as an important platform for preserving nature and biodiversity whilst strengthening ecological resilience.— Mr Danny Teoh, Chairman of Keppel
Partnership in Action
Beyond financial support, Keppel demonstrated environmental commitment through hands-on engagement.
Over 350 Keppel staff volunteers have actively participated in tree planting activities, including Chairman Mr Danny Teoh and CEO Mr Loh Chin Hua, who joined Minister Desmond Lee and community members, to plant 55 native coastal trees at the opening of the trail in January 2025.
This partnership showcased sustained corporate stewardship that goes beyond funding to include leadership participation and meaningful employee volunteerism in conservation efforts.
