Biodiversity Week for Schools 2025
31 May 2025
Sheng Siong Group's partnership with Biodiversity Week for Schools under the Festival of Biodiversity 2025 strengthened environmental education programmes for young learners to older students.
The Festival of Biodiversity 2025 marked Singapore's biggest annual biodiversity celebration, held at the National Library Building from 31 May to 1 June 2025.
Biodiversity Week of Schools (BWS) is one of the activities for students of across education levels (pre-school to Junior College) organised by NParks’ Community in Nature initiative, in conjunction with the International Day for Biological Diversity (22nd May).
The BWS programme was made possible through Sheng Siong Group's generous donation.

Comprehensive Partnership Excellence
Sheng Siong's donation enabled the creation of the "Living with Nature: Playtime with Timmy and Steffi" animation video, comprehensive activity books, BioBlitz handbooks, A2 posters, and paper binoculars.
The partnership included employee volunteerism opportunities, with Sheng Siong staff participating in storytelling sessions accompanied by online training, demonstrating commitment beyond financial contribution.
Educational Impact Through Corporate Partnership
37,000 students reached across more than 300 schools through Biodiversity Week for Schools.
The programme addressed critical environmental education needs whilst building the next generation's appreciation for Singapore's unique biodiversity through age-appropriate, interactive learning experiences.
Creating Lasting Change Through Strategic Investment
For Students: Biodiversity Week for Schools’ engaging programmes from K1 to secondary levels teach children about Singapore's native urban biodiversity.
For Schools: Bioblitz activities enable documentation and identification of wildlife species within school campuses, helping schools track biodiversity in their premises and contribute to greening efforts whilst learning scientific survey techniques
For Conservation: The programme strengthens Singapore's City in Nature vision by engaging students in understanding our natural heritage, with participants encouraged to share learning with families, amplifying conservation awareness beyond schools.
